Find and count cattle across vast rangeland in hours instead of days using thermal and visual drone sensors.
Finding cattle spread across thousands of acres of Nebraska rangeland is one of the most time-consuming tasks in ranching. Nelson Drone Solutions uses our DJI Matrice 4T equipped with FLIR thermal and visual cameras to locate livestock from the air in a fraction of the time it takes on horseback or ATV. Thermal imaging detects the body heat of cattle even in tall grass, timber, draws, and other areas where they are invisible from the ground.
We fly systematic grid patterns over your rangeland using the DJI Matrice 4T with its FLIR thermal camera. Cattle show up as distinct heat signatures on the thermal feed, even when hidden in timber, draws, or tall vegetation. We mark each animal or group with GPS coordinates and provide you with a detailed map showing exactly where your livestock is located. For large pastures, we can cover 1,000+ acres in a single flight session.
Ranchers spend days searching for cattle spread across large pastures, especially in rough terrain with timber and draws. Horseback and ATV searches miss animals hidden in cover. Helicopter rental is extremely expensive. Thermal drones find cattle that no other method can — detecting body heat through vegetation and in conditions where visual spotting fails — at a fraction of the cost of helicopter time.
